My fascination for birds and a keen interest in bird photography took me to the world’s largest bird park (in terms of the number of birds), the Jurong Bird Park. This park is home to 3500 birds of 400 different species. The bird park covers 50 acres of land with 15 exhibits and the world’s largest walk-in aviaries.
This is an ideal place to spend time with family amidst nature. Here’s what all you need to know to plan your trip to the Jurong Bird Park.
Where is Jurong Bird Park located?
The bird park is at the highest point of the Jurong Hill towards the western region. However, it will soon get relocated to 80 Mandai Lake Road near the Singapore zoo.
How to reach here?
There is plenty of transportation available to reach the Jurong bird park. You can either come by bus, MRT, Taxi or self-driven vehicle. For those taking the MRT, get down at the Boon Lay station (East-West Line) and take the bus no.194 that will take you directly to the Bird Park. If you’re coming by taxi, it will cost between 15-20 SGD (one way) to reach the bird park.
Jurong bird park timings and ticket
The park remains open throughout the year from 8:30 am until 6:00 pm. The last entry to the park is at 5:30 pm. We entered the park pretty early to save us from a long queue. However, you can also buy a separate tram ticket from the counter at the bird park for 5 SGD (adult) & 3 SGD (child) respectively.
