If you’re considering visiting Jaipur but are concerned about the cost, there is a lovely and budget-friendly option available to you. The Jaipur Jantar hostel is one of the top hostels in India, with stylish interiors and high-quality amenities at an affordable price.
It was my first time staying in a hostel, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, my experience at Jaipur Jantar completely changed my perspective toward hostels. In fact, I would prefer hostels over hotels. What I love the most is that it’s located in a peaceful, green area away from the busyness of the old city. But not too far from popular tourist sites like Hawa Mahal and City Palace.
Inside Jaipur Jantar
As you enter the premises of this 65-year-old colonial bungalow, the striking blue, and white exterior immediately catch your eye. Inside, the decor is modern and minimalistic. There are plenty of spaces to lounge and socialize, including a reading area, a tiny amphitheater, a rooftop theater, and a cozy TV room. The hostel also has a walk-in kitchen beside the dining area for self-cooking, which comes well-equipped with all the necessary appliances. If you’re in the mood for a home-like meal, you can try out the food at the adjoining hotel, Jai Niwas.
Jaipur Jantar Rooms
The hostel offers six different types of dormitories to choose from, each one with its unique name. All the dorms have air conditioning, lockers, parking, WiFi, and hot water. However, the price varies based on the room’s location and bathroom facilities.
- Folksy is a 12-bed mixed dorm with an attached bathroom.
- Khoj is a 12-bed mixed dorm with a shared bathroom.
- Odhni is a 10-bed mixed dorm with a bathroom next to the dorm on the ground floor.
- Mandna is a 6-bed girls-only dorm with an attached bathroom.
- Udaan is a 6-bed mixed dorm with an attached bathroom
- Rang is a 6-bed mixed dorm with an attached bathroom and access to the courtyard.
We stayed in the “Khoj” dormitory, a 12-bed mixed dormitory with a shared bathroom. Each bed had a locker, reading light, shelf, and a hook. The shared bathroom was clean and well-maintained, which added to the comfort of our stay. In addition, the hostel provided us complimentary WiFi access upon check-in, which was all the more awesome.
Jaipur Jantar is a cost-effective hostel that offers both private rooms (Jai Niwas) and dormitory options (Jaipur Jantar), making it a fantastic choice for budget and solo travelers. It is a safe and budget-friendly place to stay, and I highly recommend it when visiting Jaipur. If you’re on a budget and looking for a plan to explore Jaipur, don’t worry! We have the perfect guide for you.
