If you’re looking to save money on your accommodation while visiting Bangalore, a hostel might be an excellent option for you. Not only are they budget-friendly, but they also promote environmental sustainability. Additionally, staying at a hostel can be a great way to socialize and meet other travelers. I had a great experience staying at the Hood Co-living hostel during one of my trips to Bangalore.

The Hood Co-living hostel resides in one of the prime localities in Bangalore, only a kilometer from the Forum Mall and Kormangala’s main food street. One of the things I appreciate most about this hostel is its women-only dorm room and the miniature garden. You can even cook your meals and wash clothes. However, washing involves an additional charge of 150 INR.

Inside the Hood

The Hood Co-living hostel is a two-story building offering enough space and comfort to make you feel at home. Each floor has a common area to relax and interact with fellow boarders. The walls are decorated with graffiti art to add to the aesthetic appeal. The dining area is on the ground floor next to the workstation, while the first floor has a designated entertainment area with a TV and gaming facility. Guests are welcome to use any space they wish.

Female-only dorm room

Hood Co-living provides three options for shared dormitories: mixed, female-only, and male-only, each with attached bathrooms. During my stay, I chose to stay in a female dormitory next to the television room. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well-equipped with the necessary amenities. Each guest was given a locker with a key for personal belongings. However, the one downside of the room was that it was next to the TV area, and the noise insulation was not good. As a result, I found myself waking up every time someone entered or exited the room.

Food at Hood Co-living

The hostel has a kitchen where you can cook your meals or purchase one of their pre-made meals at an affordable price. I had dinner at the hostel for merely 100 INR, which included rice, lentil soup, and delicious South Indian-style prawns. The food was homely and fantastic.

In a city where traveling and accommodation are a nightmare, I found a home-like place away from home. The Hood Co-Living hostel is a great option to stay in Bangalore due to its location and accessibility, and I highly recommend it. Additionally, if you’re new to the city, and are short on time here is an awesome guided tour to explore the city. Alternatively, you can explore at your own pace with our FREE Mini Travel Guide.
