We, humans, are beautiful little imperfect beings often chasing perfection. In this journey, we try to fit into the standards created by our society by hiding our true selves. But the truth is that there’s no such thing as perfect. Even nature has its imperfections, yet they are wonderfully perfect in our eyes. Aren’t they?
#FailedItsOk is a beautifully written book by Deepankar Sarkar, narrating the tales of perfectly imperfect people whom the author refers to as “Nikkammey” (useless fellow).
As I’ve mentioned earlier, I’m not an avid reader. However, I thought of doing something different this year. Therefore, I decided to take up the 2021 Reading Challenge by GoodReads. And I am happy to share my second book review of 2021.
About the author
Deepankar Sarkar is an Inspirational Catalyst, narrating stories and facilitating learning sessions. He is born in a Bengali family and raised in Delhi. The author co-runs two Youtube channels (#faileditsok & Gubbare shots) and a Podcast with his daughter Kaavya and wife Anu. They are on a mission to spread positivity and motivate people through their various channels.
About the book
#Faileditsokay is the author’s debut novel, narrating stories about ordinary people and their imperfections. The stories are fun to read and will remind you of your childhood days. Each chapter ends with a quote that sums up the story well. I liked the writing style overall and the use of idioms here and there. The language is also easy to understand and digest.
I love how the book talks about embracing the flaws and understanding the fact that imperfections are real. The key is to accept them gracefully and work on becoming a better version of yourself. Imperfection or failure is not the end of the road but an avenue to grow.
Lastly, I would like to thank Dipu dada, a.k.a Deepankar Sarkar, for sending me a copy of his wonderful book that I enjoyed thoroughly. It is an excellent read for those looking for inspiration or dealing with stress. The stories will make you surely put a smile on your face.
