Lake Chelan Winterfest  

Jan 17 – 26 | Website 

One of the best ways to kick off the new year is by attending a festival, and what better place to do so than the gorgeous Lake Chelan, the largest natural lake in Washington? Lake Chelan Winterfest features snow-themed fun, including ice sculpting, snowshoeing, and dazzling fireworks at night. It’s also the perfect time to savor local wines from the Lake Chelan Valley region and enjoy live music—a great way to embrace the magic of winter in a picturesque destination. 

Yakima Valley Red Wine & Chocolate Festival  

Feb 14 – 17 | Website 

A place where wine and chocolate lovers unite! If your significant other loves either (or both), this is the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s weekend. Indulge in the exquisite pairing of Yakima Valley’s red wines and decadent chocolates. Several wineries in the region participate in this festival, offering tastings, special menus, and behind-the-scenes winery tours. It’s a romantic and indulgent experience that’s hard to resist! 

Lunar New Year  

Jan 18, 25 – Feb 22 | Multiple locations 

Celebrate Year of the Snake at Seattle’s most-vibrant ethnic district International District Chinatown with parades, traditional lion dances, and delicious food. The Lunar New Year celebration is filled with delicious food, family-friendly activities, and cultural significance. It’s a great way to embrace diversity and ring in prosperity and good fortune.  

Winthrop Hot Air Balloon Festival  

Feb 28 – Mar 2 | Website 

Imagine waking up to a sky filled with colorful hot air balloons soaring over the snow-covered Cascades—dreamy, right? The Winthrop Hot Air Balloon Festival is an unforgettable experience, offering not just breathtaking views but also a variety of activities like sledding, live music, and delicious local cuisine. In my opinion, it’s a dream destination for photographers and anyone seeking a magical weekend getaway.

Cherry Blossom Festival 

Blossoms peak from Mar end – Apr beginning | Multiple locations 

The first event of the season celebrates the arrival of spring with breathtaking cherry blossoms in full bloom. Even if you’re not attending one of the official festivals (which I highly recommend), you can still experience the festive vibes across Seattle, from parking lots to parks. The festival offers a delightful mix of cultural events, picnics under the blossoms, and the chance to savor seasonal spring specialties. 

Wings Over Water Northwest Birding Festival 

Mar 14 – 16 | Website 

If you love birding or are an avid bird watcher, this festival is a must-attend! It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow birding enthusiasts. Held in Blaine, the festival celebrates the migratory birds of the Pacific Northwest. With guided bird walks, wildlife cruises, and photography workshops, it’s an educational and enjoyable experience for all ages. 

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

Apr 1 – 30 | Website

Viking Fest 

May 16 – 18 | Website 

Step into the world of Norse mythology and Scandinavian culture at Poulsbo’s Viking Fest! From Viking parades to traditional dances and delicious Nordic treats, this festival is packed with cultural fun. It’s an excellent outing for families and anyone fascinated by Viking history and heritage. 

Seattle International Film Festival  

May 15 – 25 | Website 

SIFF is a cinematic feast showcasing films from around the globe. If you’re looking to up your movie game this year, this is the place to be! The festival offers an eclectic lineup of independent films, world premieres, and Q&A sessions with filmmakers, giving you space to learn the art of storytelling and celebrate cinema! 

Washington State Summer Festivals

PrideFest 

Jun 28 – 29 | Website 

The summer in Seattle begins with celebrating love, diversity, and equality at Seattle’s iconic PrideFest. From vibrant parades to live performances and community gatherings at Seattle Center, this festival is all about inclusivity and joy. It’s a must-attend for all whether you are a part of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, the experience is heartwarming and energizing at the same time. Bremerton Bridge Blast 

Jun 28 – 29 | Website 

Watch the largest bridge fireworks show on the West Coast at the Bremerton Bridge Blast! This event features live music, fun family-activities, local vendors, loads of food and a stunning firework show, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Puget Sound. 

Seafair July 4th Fireworks 

July 4 | Website 

One of the most spectacular firework displays in the Pacific Northwest happens at Seafair’s July 4th fireworks show, lighting up Seattle’s stunning skyline over Lake Union. With music, food, and an unforgettable pyrotechnic display, it’s a must-see event to celebrate Independence Day in Seattle. 

Ballard Seafood Fest 

July 11 – 13 | Website 

Running for over 50 years, Ballard Seafood Fest is a great spot to dive into Seattle’s maritime heritage! From fresh seafood, live music, to fun family-friendly activities, all in one of the city’s most charming (and my favorite) neighborhoods. It’s one of my favorite summer events in Seattle especially to try out new food vendors. 

Lavender festival Sequim 

July 18 – 20 | Website 

Another stunning flower show that will captivate you with the fragrant charm of Sequim during its annual Lavender Festival. Stroll through vibrant lavender fields, shop for artisanal products, and enjoy live music and delicious food. It’s a sensory delight that perfectly captures the essence of summer. 

Capitol Hill Block Party 

July 18 – 20 | Website 

Capitol Hill Block Party is one of the most anticipated events in Downtown Seattle. This urban music festival transforms the Capitol Hill neighborhood, featuring an eclectic lineup of live performances, art installations, and food vendors. It’s the perfect event for music lovers and city explorers looking to experience a high-energy summer vibe. 

Seafair Weekend 

Aug 1 – 3 | Website 

Seafair is one of the most popular events in Seattle, offering the ultimate summer celebration. The festivities began from July 4th with the dazzling fireworks over Lake Union and goes until the main Seafair Weekend. This almost month-long festivities feature hydroplane races, Torchlight Parade, air shows, cultural events and the star of the show, a thrilling performance by the Blue Angels, which bring the community together in style. 

Anacortes Arts Festival 

Aug 1 – 3 | Website 

This one is for Art lovers, who love meeting new artists and admire creativity. The Anacortes Arts Festival showcases incredible work done by local and international artists. Moreover, you can enjoy live music, culinary delights, and interactive exhibits in one of the most-charming town of Fidalgo Island, Anacortes.

Washington State Fall Festivals 

Events happening in the month of Sep and Nov. 

Dia de Muertos seattle

Washington State Fair, Puyallup 

Aug 29 – Sep 21 | Website 

Attend the largest fair in Washington State at the Puyallup Washington State Fair, a classic end-of-summer tradition. It features everything from thrilling rides to livestock shows, live entertainment, and delicious fair food. It’s the perfect event for a fun family time and experience the best season in Washington. You can also attend the Spring Fair happening in April.  

Oktoberfest Leavenworth 

Oct 3 – 18 | Website 

Oktoberfest is a world-renowned festival that originated in Germany to celebrate the marriage of King Ludwig I to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The celebration is filled with music, traditional food, and drinks. Thanks to Leavenworth’s Bavarian roots (not literally), you’ll feel right at home as German traditions come to life with pretzels, schnitzels, craft beer, polka dancing, and even a beer stein competition. The event’s lively atmosphere makes it a must-attend for anyone looking to experience Bavarian culture in the heart of Washington. 

Pumpkin Harvest Festival 

Oct 1 – 31 | Multiple locations 

One of the main events of fall is celebrating the harvest season by visiting a pumpkin patch! From picking pumpkins at local farms to enjoying freshly squeezed cider and apple cinnamon cakes, to participating in fun activities like corn mazes and hayrides, there’s something for everyone. Don’t forget to snap some postcard-perfect family photos at the pumpkin patch! This event truly captures the essence of fall and is a great way to embrace autumn in a fun, festive setting. Dia de Muertos

Experience the rich cultural celebration of Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) at Seattle Center. From altars and traditional food to lively parades and performances, this festival honors ancestors and celebrates life. It’s a beautiful and meaningful way to immerse yourself in Mexican traditions and pay tribute to loved ones.

Snowflake Lane

Snowflake Lane Parade at Bellevue Square is where the magic of the holiday season begins. This festive event features a dazzling nightly parade with twinkling snowflakes, animated characters, and a snow machine that creates a true winter wonderland feel. Christmas Village Leavenworth

With festive decorations, artisan gifts, live music, and delicious treats, Christmas Village offers a heartwarming experience for all ages. Christmas Market & Winterfest

NYE Fireworks at Seattle Center 

Dec 31 | Website 

Ring in the New Year with a spectacular fireworks display at Seattle Center! The iconic fireworks show lights up the night sky, marking the arrival of the new year with joy and excitement. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the end of the year and welcome the new one with friends, family, and fellow Seattleites.
