Not many know, but I am a big adventure enthusiast. I love going on a “trekation”, which basically means spending my vacation on a trek. Although I’ve not been on many treks, I’ve hardly been to two. However, I try not to miss out on any opportunity that comes my way. Therefore, when I got a chance to visit Morocco, I instantly added the Atlas Mountains to my itinerary without any second thoughts.
Essaouira is a charming port city on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. A place that I was longing to visit since the day I saw it on Game of Thrones. It was in Season 3 of Game of Thrones when Daenerys travelled to Astapor aka Essaouira and bought the army of Unsullied in exchange for one of her dragons.
We’ve all heard about the classic Hollywood movie Casablanca and its famous nightclub, the Ricks’s cafe. That’s what Casablanca was to me before coming to Morocco. Exploring the city on foot made me realise that it is more than just fancy bars and commercial buildings. The French quarters hold up most of Casablanca’s nightlife.
